Geeky Stuff
Like the company's biological weapons division, Weyland-Yutani's reverse-engineering projects were generally carried out with little regard for morality, although the fact that its research was primarily based on the study of appropriate technology meant that the extent of egregious human rights abuses was less overt.
It is one of the mega corporations that manages human colonies outside the solar system through the Extrasolar Colonization Administration, has a seat on the Business Review Board of the Interstellar Commerce Commission, and also has a strong presence on Earth.
In Aliens vs. Predator 2010, it is revealed in an audio diary of Karl Bishop Weyland that Weyland-Yutani's main goal after capturing the Xenomorphs by any means at their disposal is to exploit them and develop weapons from their biology in order to ensure humanity is the elite species in the universe, and not so much for profit.
Based on context clues through the Alien film series and widespread media, it is clear that nearly all Weyland-Yutani employees are aware that the company is highly corrupt and routinely bribes inspectors instead of following safety protocols.
Weyland-Yutani has also been involved in non-civilian colonies, most notably overseeing the Class C Correctional Labor Unit and associated industrial lead smelter at Fiorina Fury 161, explored in David Fincher's Alien 3.
The company focused on technological advancements and made great strides in areas such as holography, alien colonization, FTL travel, cybernetics, transportation and healthcare.
It is claimed that in the 2150s, Weyland-Yutani was involved in or owned almost everything and had its main offices in Tokyo, London, San Francisco, Thedus and the Sea of Tranquility on Luna.
Despite the extremely tight security enforced by Weyland-Yutani's combat androids, the company's research facilities were an ordeal due to containment failures and leaks, resulting in a catastrophic loss of life among employees and civilians.
Soon after, Weyland-Yutani lost a United Systems Military contract for FTL engines and was outbid by rival conglomerate Ridton, severely affecting the company's financial results.
Maisy is elusive and rarely shows their face in public. She can usually be enticed with cheese, punk rock or the promise of a passionate discussion on sociolinguistics and dialectology, although she has been known to occasionally explore local parks, zoos and distilleries.
